Free and open source, with everything included
Overtalk is MIT-licensed open source: record, transcribe and write notes on your computer, play the source of every note, keep projects, get a brief before each meeting, and let it file meetings for you. There is no paid edition. The one paid option is a subscription for private AI summaries, because each summary runs on Privatemode's servers; it is planned at €10 a month or €96 a year and is not on sale yet.

Projects, filing and briefs
For people who run the same work across many meetings: client engagements, releases, hiring loops. Its centre is the brief: walk into every meeting knowing what was decided, what is still open and who is coming.
- Briefs before meetings, about an hour ahead: what was decided and what is still open, open actions, who is coming, project context and the status of tickets from earlier meetings, each linked to its source. A reminder arrives before the meeting, and the agenda is copied into your own notes when you start recording. Briefs and reminders need Overtalk running.
- Automatic filing: calendar meetings are filed in their project before they start, from the recurring series, invitees, their organisation, title phrases and the calendar account. A call with no invite is filed from its transcript when it ends, before notes are written. Each choice shows its reason, a close call becomes a suggestion, and your own choice always wins.
- Projects keep every meeting together, and you can ask a question across all of them, with a source for each answer.
- Remembered voices: with the person's consent, confirm a name once and Overtalk suggests it in the project's next meeting. Voice profiles stay on your computer.
- Team handoffs draft follow-ups for Linear, Jira, Confluence and Google Docs, sent only after you check the destination.
All of it is processed on your computer and is part of the open-source code.

Private AI summaries, optional
A subscription for 200+ hours of meeting summaries each month with advanced private AI models, for longer or more complex meetings. They are opt-in: you turn them on in Settings, and local processing stays available and never uses them. Planned at €10 a month or €96 a year; not on sale yet.
- End to end: Overtalk runs Privatemode's own proxy on your computer. It verifies Privatemode's servers and encrypts each summary for them with a key issued for your subscription. Overtalk issues the key and never receives the text. The planned data flow
- Transcription stays local: the hours are summaries of transcripts made on your computer.
- Monthly: the allowance renews each month; unused hours do not roll over. There are no automatic top-ups.
- A full refund if private summaries aren't right for you: ask within 30 days of paying.
- Without a subscription, your own Privatemode account works for summaries too.
For teams
Every person uses the same free app; meetings stay on each person's computer. What a team can buy is the paperwork and help around it, quoted for the team that asks:
- A data processing agreement covering the one part that involves a service, the private AI summaries, which Privatemode processes as a sub-processor.
- Invoices for the summaries subscriptions, instead of card checkout.
- Support and deployment help: packaged installs, policy settings and a contact who answers.
